Il Est Balou – El Salvador – Unistar

Mare, 2018

Size 168 cm

Nina is a beautiful compact modern sports mare with a dark coat that stands out. She has an energetic canter, a very flexible, scopey jump and excellent jumping technique. The mare is also very fast, agile and combative and at the same time jumps calmly and easily. She demonstrates great quality in her jump and is fully ready to advance to higher showjumping courses within her age category. This sensitive six year old mare has experience over showjumping tracks up to 130cm. This year in August she won 4th place in the 6 year old championship final. Sire Il Est Balou is a son of the legendary Balou de Rouet. He jumped successfully under the saddle of Albert Zoer before being sold as a six year old to the USA. In her damline we find the 1.60m horse Pherna, the 1.55m horse Barici vh Weyerke and the 1.45m horses Royal and Getoria B. Her dam is a half-sister to the 1.60m jumper Daniel 11 who is ridden by the French rider Flavien Auberson. Another half-brother is Goldeneye, a 10 year old Back Gammon son who is ridden by the German Phillip Weishaupt and is currently jumping 1.50m tracks. She is sired by El Salvador, the jumping champion of the KWPN 2012 performance test. In 2017, he was also approved for the Zangersheide studbook. El Salvador is an honest, reliable stallion with a good attitude, superb technique and is very scopey over fences. He has a powerful, yet well balanced canter. El Salvador has already produced several exceptional offspring, such as the Z-Approved stallion Elfra van Beek Z who jumps at 1.50m level with Gilles Thomas. Other of his offspring include the approved stallion Invictus (1.45m), Ipswich (1.45m) and Ipsylon (1.45m).
