Sire Checkter has already been competing on international 1.50m-level and is the younger half-brother of the successful Grand Prix stallion Check In, who competed with Samantha McIntosh in the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. Like his renowned half-brother, Checkter has made a promising start in breeding, with his oldest offspring now embarking on their international sports careers. This Santiago also inherits excellent jumping genetics from his dam’s side. He was bred out of the full sister of the KWPN-approved stallion Hermantico, who competed on international 1.45m level with Henk van de Pol. Santiago’s dam excelled in her IBOP test with four scores of 8. Granddam Chiquitita is a half-sister to the international 1.50m-horse Camirage (s.Charisma I), ridden by Christina Kelly. Adding further strength to this pedigree, damsire Comme Il Faut reached new heights in his breeding career last year with the Olympic gold for his offspring Checker 47.
