VDL Omthago

VDL Omthago is the name of this son of the great Comthago VDL, who is very succesful at the highest International level with Hessel Hoekstra (the pair was Silver medal winner at the Dutch National Championship). As a 5-year-old, VDL Omthago jumped an incredible amount of clear rounds and Finished 7th in the National Championship for 5 year olds in Holland. He qualified for the World Championships, where he once again only jumped clear rounds and finished 8th place in the Final. VDL Omthago is a horse that grows in the ring, a horse that wants to perform. He has a very modern type, good length in the body and a very adjustable canter. He jumps with a very good technique, very quick take off, is very careful and has a lot of athletic scope. Never spectacular, but whether you build them small or big, the jump is always the same! VDL Omthago has all the ingredients to become your Grand Prix horse for the future. Sire: Under Hessel Hoekstra, sire Comthago VDL achieved already remarkable results. Last year, at just ten years old, he won Silver medal at the National Championship, he won the 4*-Grand Prix of Ommen, placed second in the World Cup competition at CSI4* Poznan, and came fourth in the Grand Prix of CSI3* Leeuwarden. The Holsteiner son of Comme Il Faut has also made a promising start to his breeding career, and VDL Omthago comes from his second crop. Dam: Justine VDE, the dam of VDL Omthago, combines the valuable sport and breeding stallions Harley VDL and Libero H. She is a half-sister to the 1.40/1.45m-level showjumpers Endy, ridden by Adam Prudent, and Igor ridden by Carly Anthony. Damline: This allround Dutch damline has produced a number of international sport horses. Closely related to VDL Omthago is, among others, the 1.45m-Grand Prix horse Ingar Endy VDE of rider Xin Xu.
