VDL Nheintje is a daughter of Comthago VDL, who is not only competing at the highest level and won Silver Medal at the Dutch Championship but proving to pass those qualities on as a sire. VDL Nheintje will be a great partner to go through the different levels. She has a great mind, is competitive and has scope. She jumps with a good technique and has a quick take off. Along with her good scope, she is proving that she is a real “tryer” under saddle. Sire: Under the saddle of Hessel Hoekstra, sire Comthago VDL achieved already remarkable results. Last year, at just ten years old, he won the 4*-Grand Prix of Ommen, placed second in the World Cup competition at CSI4* Poznan, and came fourth in the Grand Prix of CSI3* Leeuwarden. The Holsteiner son of Comme Il Faut has also made a promising start to his breeding career, and VDL Nheintje comes from his first crop. Dam: Peliana, the dam of VDL Nheintje, carries the valuable performance genes of World Cup winner Libero H (Jos Lansink), who has also proven to be an exceptional sire. Peliana herself has produced several successful offspring, including the international 1.45m-level showjumper Zidane 19, ridden by Karl Brocks. Damline: VDL Nheintje descends from a traditional Dutch damline, which provides a solid foundation. The granddam, Deliana, produced the 1.45m-level showjumper Free Willy, ridden by Leonardo Tipo Galbani, and is also found in the second generation of Sally Goding’s 1.60m-level performer Spring Willow.
